Recipient of the Order of Canada, trumpeter Jens Lindemann is one of the most celebrated artists in his instrument's history and has played both jazz and classical in every major concert venue in the world: from Los Angeles, London, Berlin and Tokyo, to Carnegie Hall. Jens has given a Command Performance for Her Majesty the Queen and was a featured soloist at the Vancouver Olympics.
Classically trained at The Juilliard School Jens has performed with conductors such as Sir Neville Marriner, Charles Dutoit and Bramwell Tovey as well as many orchestras including the London Symphony and New York Philharmonic. He has received both Grammy and JUNO Award nominations and won the prestigious Echo Klassik in Germany. He has also served on the faculties of the Santa Barbara Music Academy of the West, the University of Toronto and the Banff Centre for the Arts.
Tommy Banks is a pianist, conductor, arranger, composer, television personality and former Canadian Senator. He is a recipient of a JUNO Award, a Gemini Award, a Grand Prix du Disques-Canada, and several ARIA Awards. He was musical director for the XI Commonwealth Games, EXPO '86, the XV Olympic Winter Games, countless television shows, and is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Tommy has made numerous appearances at the Medicine Hat JazzFest and was the first artist ever presented by the Medicine Hat Jazz Society for it's inaugural concert in 1991.
Joining Jens and Tommy are Kristian Alexandrov on Hammond organ, Jeremy Coates on bass and Tyler Hornby on drums.
Jens and Tommy will be performing music from their 2016 JUNO nominated recording Legacy Live.
