It's always a thrill to present a hometown artist! Originally from Medicine Hat, T (Teresa) Riley has traveled the world gathering experience and musical influence that provides many dimensions to her unique brand of indie pop rock. Described by the Georgia Straight as having a sound that incorporates elements of rock, blues, country, and prebop jazz—usually all within a single song, the music of this vocalist and her ensemble is lively, energetic and sure to have you dancing!
Residing now in Vancouver, Teresa performs around town with various Jazz groups. She is an avid swing dancer and has created The Bourbon Rebels to keep the swing alive, and showcase other fabulous musicians. Comparisons range between No Doubt, Caro Emerald, and Lana Del Rey to Amy Winehouse.
Also on stage will be Bonnie Northgraves on trumpet, Jack Ray on guitar, John Bews on bass and Doug Fujisawa on keys.
This group really thrives in a live setting, and with a return to her hometown, we are expecting the roof to come off the parkade when Teresa Riley and the Bourbon Rebels hit the stage! Welcome home Teresa!
