It’s been 25 years since the Dino Martinis first mixed their unique cocktail of swing, funk and Vegas glam … which seems like a pretty good excuse to throw a party at Jazz Festivals this summer!

It’s been a wild quarter-century for the Dino Martinis. They’ve released three popular original music discs, appeared on several international compilations, played Japan and toured Canada, the United States and Europe.

The group has played for members of the Japanese royal family and Hollywood royalty – sharing the stage with Tom Hanks. They’ve played iconic rooms like LA’s Brown Derby and the Viper Room, and played Windows on the World, on the top of the World Trade Centre, shortly before 9/11.

The band serves up a blend of swing, jump blues and soul in the style of the likes of Louis Prima. Their goal is to make every performance unforgettable.

This year, the band showcased many of their much-loved original songs during a special edition of Stampede City Sessions. The program became a one-hour special that aired on Spokane’s PBS affiliate KSPS TV, which service the NW United States and Western Canada. Stampede City Sessions also airs on East Tennessee PBS and WKNO Memphis PBS.

The Medicine Hat JazzFest is thrilled to present this iconic Calgary band in another up-tempo JazzFest dance party!

Members of the Dino Martinis are, Don McSwiney and Mark Szabo on Bass, Brent Kawchuk on Guitar, Scott Lauchlan and Tyler Hornby on Drums, Demetrio Navarro on Piano and Keys, Nico Brennan, Loree MacDonald, Diana Thomas, Kris Demeanor, Kate Stevens, HeeBee JeeBees, and Amy Lee Owens on Vocals, Johnny Summers on vocals/trumpet, Jeff Highley, Jordan Kawchuk and Mike Clark on Sax.
