Minister’s Greeting

As we continue to help each other through the pandemic, the joy, inspiration and entertainment we find in the arts—and especially music—are a precious gift. Even in these challenging times, Canadians need to come together to celebrate our musical heritage and the rich and diverse culture it reflects.

For the past quarter of a century, Medicine Hat JazzFest has played an undeniably important role in the economic, social and cultural life of the region—and right now, we know just how vital this work is. That is why our government is proud to contribute to the success of this year’s festival.

As Minister of Canadian Heritage, I would like to thank the Medicine Hat Jazz Society and all the organizers, performers and volunteers who helped overcome the challenges of the pandemic to make this year’s JazzFest possible.

Congratulations on 25 years! I hope you all enjoy a wonderful event.

The Honourable

Steven Guilbeault
